LOST TREASURES EPISODE #9
(archived recording here) Lost Treasures on WOWD 94.3 FM welcomes music impresario, musician, and Cuneiform label owner Steve Feigenbaum this Saturday, September 4th from 9am to 10am. 40 years ago in the environs of Silver Spring/Takoma Park, Steve Feigenbaum and friends started up their own independent record label: Random Radar Records. Releasing cutting edge records, avant-rock, and other music considered “outside” of the mainstream, Random Radar Records launched the music careers of many area musicians (like The Muffins and Mars Everywhere) and also helped international artists (like UK’s Art Bears) to distribute their unique sounds to the world. Steve Feigenbaum will be in-studio to discuss the formation of Random Radar, to reflect on the DC music scene from that time, and to listen to some of the music released on Random Radar Records. Tune in this Saturday to Lost Treasurers to hear more about this influential record label that was an important part of the independent music scene in the 1970s. Comments are closed.
