The world lost two of the greatest songwriters (of my generation) in the last month: DAVID BERMAN (1967-2019) and DANIEL JOHNSTON (1961-2019). Berman was best known as the lyrical craftsman of his band The Silver Jews and committed suicide, after years of battling depression, in August. Daniel Johnston, a Texas legend known for his extremely personal and emotional heart-wrenching lyrics, died suddenly of a heart attack on September 10th. On Lost Treasures this Saturday, 9/14 at 9am, DJ Mackie will be exploring the worlds of Berman and Johnston, digging deep into their catalogues, and remembering their genius. Comments are closed.
