 The great multi-instrumentalist and jazz icon Andrew White joins DJ Mackie on Lost Treasures this Saturday, 9/29 to celebrate the 47th anniversary of ANDREW'S MUSIC: the influential label he started in 1971 on John Coltrane's birthday. Lost Treasures will be digging into Andrew White's vast catalogue of music and talking in-depth with this living legend who has graced the Washington, DC scene since his undergraduate days at Howard University when he emerged on the scene with the JFK Quintet, who released two important jazz albums on Riverside.
Also in studio will be local archivist and historian Ray Barker, who has collaborated with Andrew White in local programming. WOWD DJ and Rhizome promoter Steve Korn will also be on hand to discuss Retro(per)spective: a new exhibit at Rhizome on artist run spaces in DC. Comments are closed.
